I was born and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico which is also known as "The City of Science". In 2013, I obtained a Bachelor in Natural Science with a major in Coastal Marine Biology from the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao (UPRH) and in 2017 I obtained a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Biology from Hampton University. Finally, I recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from University of South Florida (USF) College of Marine Science, where I worked under the advisement of Dr. Pamela Hallock-Muller. My dissertation focused on Cassiopea (upside-down jellies) ecology, focusing on their potential bioindicators for nutrient pollution in coastal environments. I am also a Certified Academic Advisor by the USF College of Education.
Currently, I am a Gulf Science Policy Fellow from the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine, where I will be working with the Gulf Coastal Ocean Observation System (GCOOS) starting Fall 2025.
